Khuzdar Bus Accident 2025: Fatal Crash Kills Dozens

A devastating suicide bombing targeted a school bus on May 21, 2025 in Khuzdar, Balochistan, Pakistan. It resulted in the  death of six individuals including four school going children. In this attack dozens were injured.

It was another violent incident in Pakistan's South Western province Balochistan which has a history of insurgent activities. Authorities of Pakistan have blamed India alleging involvement in the attack. This incident heightened tensions between the two neighbouring countries.

This attack occurred around 7:40 a.m. local time when a suicide bomber rushed into a school bus. This school bus was transporting the students of the Army Public School. The bus was carrying 46 students at the time. The explosion resulted in the deaths of at least seven people.

This includes four children, the bus driver, a security guard and the bomber. Forty people were injured in this blast.Pakistani authorities accused Indian intelligence agencies of the attack through proxy militant groups but no group immediately claimed responsibility for the bombing.

This incident heightened bilateral tensions due to the fall out of the Pahalgam attack and the 2025 India Pakistan conflict. A Pakistani analyst and former minister forced thorough investigations before blaming any side for the attack.

India rejected Pakistan's allegations implicating the school bus attack in Khuzdar calling all claims baseless. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs condemned the loss of innocent lives in the attack. They accused Pakistan for its internal problems to distract from its domestic failings.

The international community also condemned this attack. The Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong condemned the attack and expressed support for Pakistan's counter terrorism operations. German Ambassador Alfred Grannas condemned the Khuzdar school bus attack and expressed shock over the murder of innocent civilians and children.

This attack has sparked national and international concerns over the targeting of children and educational institutions. There is a need for comprehensive strategies to address the root causes of such violence and to ensure the safety and security of civilians.
