Punjab government's School Education Department has officially refuted a social media viral notification claiming that all the province's public and private schools would close from May 8 to May 10, 2025.
Taking to Facebook on Tuesday, the department described the notice as "Fake News" in red bold lettering over a picture of the forged document, advising the public not to believe or share false information.
The fake notice, dated May 7, 2025, indicated that schools would be closed for three days while exams taken by international boards such as O-Level and A-Level would go on as planned. It also contained names and designations of education officials to give it a genuine look.
Officials stressed that no such decision has been taken and that any genuine announcements would be done through the department's official sources.
